John Will Rains, 79, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 at his residence.
He was born in Windy, Kentucky on August 24, 1933, son of the late William David Lee and Ella Mae Waters Rains. He was a farmer, and raised and trained mules and horses. He was also a lamp maker.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Hart Rains of Eubank, four children, Kathy Sue Rains Lynch of Hendersonville, NC, Yolanda Sue Rains Barron of Eubank, Johney Dean Rains of Eubank and Marion Joseph Rains, US Navy Chief, serving in Hagerstown, MD, eight grandchildren, Jennifer Lynch Gullett of Dayton, OH, Mary Lynch Ramirez of Hendersonville, NC, Jayden Nok Rains of Hagerstown, MD, Cody Lee Crowe, Trinity Joseph Crowe and Christian Lee Barron, all of Eubank, Jonathan H. Andrew Lynch of Winston Salem, NC and Jonathan Alexander Rains of Lexington, KY, three great-grandchildren, Samuel Augustus Gullett of Dayton, OH, Mane Dalesandro Ramiriz of Hendersonville, NC and Logan Kaedyn Alexander Rains of Lexington, KY and half-sister, Lora Mae Phillips of Wellington, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Darlene Elizabeth Rains, two brothers, Lyle Glenn Rains and Kenneth Robert Rains and one sister, Zelma Rains Beck.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Monday, May 6, 2013 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Elder Barry Todd and Bro. Ron Sheppard officiating.
Burial will be in Goochtown Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Sunday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
