Leah C. Whilden, 72, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Buffalo, New York on August 15, 1940, daughter of the late John G. and Jeanette Lee Crump. She was a homemaker and a member of Lakeside Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, David Whilden of Science Hill, four children, Valerie & (Bently) Hogan of Somerset, Timothy & (Kim) Whilden of Eustis, FL, Pamala & (Rodney) Manning of Graceville, FL and Ricky & (Lisa) Whilden of Eustis, FL, one brother, Robert & (Shirley) Crump of Flint, MI, two sisters, Virginia Chapman of Bethelridge, KY and Ruth James of Davenport, FL, sister-in-law, Shirley Crump of Trout, NC, twelve grandchildren, Jennifer Hazell, Tina Belser, Lynda Jayne Hogan, Michael Hogan, Lisa Simpson, Melissa Gunter, Blake Whilden, Alex Whilden, Travis Whilden, Kasey Whilden, Samuel Whilden and Kaley Dillon and eleven great-grandchildren, Zachery Williams, Jonathon Williams, Devon Hazell, Cayden Harrell, Isaiah Belser, Trey Hogan, Carissa Gunter, Jaxon Hogan, Kathryn Gunter, Charlie Hogan, Ian Simpson and one more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, who both died in infancy, Lucy Mae Whilden and Penny Annette Whilden and two brothers, Jack Crump and David Crump. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Fisher and Bro. David King officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:30 AM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
