Gerald A. Leigh, 77, of Edwards Street in Somerset, Kentucky, formally of Eubank, peacefully departed this life to his heavenly home on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at his residence.
He was born in Eubank, Kentucky on January 7, 1931, son of the late Luther A. and Nora M. Reynolds Leigh. He was a master plumber, contractor and a teacher. He was a member of Victory Christian Fellowship Church.
He is survived by one son, Steve A. Leigh of Somerset, one daughter, Angela M. Smith of Princeton, WV, one sister, Donna & (Tom) Wilkinson of Frankfort, KY, three grandchildren, Meghan Leigh, Evan Smith and Stacy & (Jason) Wilson, one great-grandchild, Leanna Leigh, several nieces and nephews and a large church family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lee May Leigh, whom he married on August 27, 1950 and who died on January 21, 2007, his parents, son-in-law, Rick Smith and two brothers, Ferris Leigh and Odell Leigh.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Victory Christian Fellowship Church with Bro. Mark Harrell officiating.
Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at the church.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy go to Gideon Memorial Bible Plan or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
