Floyd Elmer Young, 72, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born in Nevelsville, Kentucky on April 7, 1941, son of the late Willie and Angeline Spradlin Young. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Sutton Young of Science Hill, two sons, Charles & (Suwana) Young of Somerset and Brandon & (Shawn) Young of Science Hill, two brothers, Joseph Young and Robert Young, both of Burnside, four sisters, Marty Aloisio of Florida, Nadine Jones of Burnside, Ruth Slaughter of Nancy and Dorothy Young of Burnside, three grandchildren, Sebastian, Ariana and Cheyenne, two great-grandchildren, Kyliah and Miliana and step granddaughter, Mieisha.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, James Young, Everett Young, Tooney Young and Earl Young and seven sisters, Rosie Lewis, Venna Sims, Hazel Blankenship, Marie Bryant, Emma Lawson, Virginia Young and Dora Young.
A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Friday, May 10, 2013 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Reynolds officiating.
Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
