Robert C. Deaton, 83, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born in Lee County, Kentucky on September 8, 1929, son of the late Jesse James and Dora May Morris Deaton. He was a farmer and attended Floyd Switch Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He is survived by two sons, Dennis Deaton and Douglas Deaton and two daughters, Rosemary Deaton and Darla Kay Deaton, all of Michigan. He is also survived by five sisters, Minnie Lou Long of Shelbyville, KY, Delvena Cockerham of Nicholasville, KY, Rita Spencer of Indiana, Frances Tomes Phillips of Somerset and Shirley Shipley of Springfield, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Arvella Drake, Lillian Abell and Betty Pennington. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Shelby Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #18. Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
