Lois Anne Grabeel, 82, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born in the Pulaski community on May 12, 1931, daughter of the late Delmer Columbus and Viola Bryant Hines. She was a member of Freedom Christian Church, where she played the piano for many years. She retired from Oakwood Training Center, where she was the Director of Environmental Services and Laundry. She was a member of Waynesburg OES #501. She served in many different positions in her 62 years of membership, including being Grand Organist for the Wiggins and Gullett Grand Family.
Lois Anne had a very unique sense of humor and made many friends wherever she went. She loved playing the piano at the Eastern Star Chapters and for her "Buddies" at Somerset Dialysis Center.
She is survived by one daughter, Diana & (Glen) Stephens of Eubank, daughter-in-law, Kathy Grabeel of Somerset, grandchildren, Danny & (Tabby) Picard, Robert Edwin Stephens & (Kim Denton), Greg & (Trina) Stephens, Leslie & (Mike) Godsey, great-grandchildren, Curtis and Kayla Stephens, Carolina and Lucas Picard and Tanner Godsey, one sister, Jean Morris of Smyrna, TN, two sister-in-laws, Retha Hines of Somerset, and Mary Hines of Tennessee, nieces and nephews, who she felt were her own children and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Danny Lee Grabeel, three brothers, Howard, Carroll Ray and Freddie Hines, one sister, Helen Martin and brother-in-laws, Bobby Morris and Bill Martin.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Friday, May 31, 2013 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Cole officiating.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Eastern Star service at 7 PM.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Science Hill Garden Club or Eastern Star Home "Fun Fund".
