Ernest Eldridge, Sr. 76, of Waynesburg, Kentucky passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Kindred Health Care.
He was born on August 15, 1936 in Blackey, KY, son of the late Howard and Mary Caudill Eldridge. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a retired Assembly Line Worker for GE in Louisville. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Hill Eldridge; four sons, Ernest & (Tina) Eldridge of Tampa, FL., James William & (Connie) Eldridge of Eubank, KY, Steve Patrick & (Ramona) Eldridge of Waynesburg, KY, and Billy Garrett & (Julie) Hembree of Louisville, KY; one daughter, Stephanie Mae & (Joey) Thompson of Mt. Washington, KY; one brother, Burnest & (Wanda) Eldridge of Glasgow, KY; five sisters, Betty & (Charles) Fields of Mt. Washington, KY, Jeanette & (Gale) Hampton of Waynesburg, KY, Elsie Todd of Knoxville, TN, Violet & (Bert) Trumbo of Springfield, OH, and Mabel Collins of Eubank, KY; sixteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ora Eldridge, three brothers, Sam Eldridge, Denver Eldridge an infant brother; and a brother-in-law, Chester Collins.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Rev. Emery Caudill officiating.
Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery.
Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #18 Honor Guard of Lincoln Co.
Visitation for Mr. Ernest Eldridge will be after 6 PM Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
