Rufus Franklin Brittain Sr., 92, of Danville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013.
He was born in Bandy, Kentucky on May 9, 1921, son of the late James G. and Nancy Middleton Brittain. He was a brakeman and conductor for Southern Railway. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Danville, where he was a past Deacon and a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by one son, Rudy & (Portia) Brittain of Louisville, KY and two grandchildren, Eric Brittain of Baltimore, MD and Emily Brittain of Louisville, KY.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Vaught Brittain, his parents and one son, Aaron W. Brittain, who died in infancy.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Mathis officiating.
Entombment will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens with military honors by American Legion Post #38.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Danville, General Fund.
