Travis Denzil Spears

Travis Denzil Spears, 72, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Bethelridge, Kentucky on September 15, 1941, son of the late Earl and Ruthie Godbey Spears. He was a logger and farmer. He is survived by one son, Tyrone & (Ashley) Bradley of Somerset, a step daughter, Rachel Sumpter of Manchester, KY, five brothers, James & (Shirley) Spears, Prentice Lee & (Wanda) Spears, Billy Gene & (Diane) Spears, Doie & (Linda) Spears and Roy Jr. & (Marlene) Spears, all of Ohio, four sisters, Nancy Foster, Betty & (Richard) Mullins, Wanda Garrett and Iva Spears-Clements, all of Bethelridge, special friend, Beverly Sumpter of Somerset, two grandchildren, Devon and Aleah, several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Hershel Spears and three brothers-in-law, Johnnie Taylor, Bobby Foster and Jim Clements. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Bethelridge United Methodist Church with Bro. Greg Powell and Bro. Gene Sweet officiating. Burial will be in Bethelridge Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
