Mary Katherine Hargis

Mary Katherine Hargis, 69, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was born in Rockville, Indiana on October 24, 1943, daughter of the late James and Elsie Farris Smith. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband, Tommy Hargis of Eubank, one son, Tommy Dale & (Gertie) Hargis of Eubank, three daughters, Kathe & (Paul) Godby and Karen & (Kerry) Bishop, both of Science Hill and Karrie & (Randy) Ridner of Eubank, one brother, Ernest Smith of Georgia, eight grandchildren, David & (Cindy) Barron, Kim & (Michael) Wilson, T.R. Bishop, Ryan Hargis, Ashley Hargis, Tyler Ridner, Brandi Ridner and Caleb "Little Man" Ridner and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, James Smith, Walter Smith, Glen Smith, Chester Smith and Johnny Smith. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Howard Godby officiating. Burial will be in Eden Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
