Darin Gene Geiger, 44, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away September 22, 2013.
He was born on December 22, 1968 in Anderson, Indiana; son of Janice Fulks Geiger, and the late Ivan Gene Geiger. He graduated from Lapel High School, Lapel, IN. Darin loved the outdoors, gardening, hunting, fishing, swimming, camping and tending his chickens. He received a BA in Forestry from Purdue University, Lafayette, IN. Darin worked for the City of Indianapolis, DPW Forestry Division for 13 years. Darin was a member of St. Rock Catholic Church.
Darin is survived by his wife, Martha Ann Adams Geiger whom he married on March 1, 1997, his children, Lewis Gene, Adam Robert, Diana May, Gabriel Ivan, and William Lando, his mother; Janice Fulks Geiger; a sister, Elizabeth & (Chuck) Gallagher and famiy; brother, Ivan & (Stephanie) and family; uncles, Charles Geiger, Gary & (Debi) Geiger; aunts, Leann (Scott) Brady, Wanda Young, and Ruby & (Ed) Shipley; father and mother-in-law, Jimmie and Diana Adams; sisters-in-law, Christina & (Paul) Eble, Victoria & (Michael) Wallace; bothers-in-law, James & (Julie) Adams and Matthew & (Beth) Adams; aunt Betty Mize; uncles, Lando & (Shirley) Adams, Joseph & (MaryAnn) Ray, Michael & (Seanna) Ray; and aunt, Roseann Trivett. He is also survived by his lifelong friend, Bobby Edgreen; eight nephews; four nieces; and many cousins, loved ones and friends.
Darin was preceded in death by his father, Ivan Gene Geiger; grandparents, James William & (Jennie) Fulks, Ivan & (Dorothy May) Geiger; and uncles, James William Fulks, Herbert & (Ruth Fulks) Jones, and Duane Young.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 26 at St. Roch Catholic Church, 3600 S. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis, 46227.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 25 at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis.
A graveside service will be held at 3 PM Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Chimney Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.
Burial will be in Chimney Rock Baptist Church Cemetery in Somerset.
