Ansel S. "Tom" Hines, 91, of Ellison - Pulaski Road in Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at his residence.
He was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on December 22, 1916, son of the late Sherd and Vada Waddle Hines. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps known as CCC. He was also a foreman for Greer Bros. in London, KY and London Bridge Co. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of Eubank Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Tommy & (Betty) Hines and Doug Hines & (special friend, Mary Taylor), both of Eubank, son-in-law, Frey Todd of Eubank, one sister, Mary Slaybaugh of Indianapolis, IN, three grandchildren, Mitzi Denney, Cindy & (Jeff) Burkett and Michael & (Debbie) Todd, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and nephew and special caregivers, Billy & (Janet) Slaybaugh of Science Hill.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Lorraine Dungan Hines, who died on February 21, 1987, one daughter, Ann Todd, two brothers, Robert Hines and Lawrence Hines and one sister, Opal Smiley.
A funeral service will be held at 4 PM Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Shelby Reynolds officiating.
Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38.
Visitation will be after 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
