Lula Jane Wesley, 88, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Somerset Nursing & Rehab.
She was born in Ansel, Kentucky on July 15, 1925, daughter of the late Shedrick and Bertha Elizabeth Wheeler Wesley. She was a homemaker, loved quilting and yard sales, before her health declined. She was a very devoted and active Christian and member of Science Hill Christian Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and a caregiver for many friends and neighbors.
She is survived by three sons, Lewis & (Joella) Wesley of Science Hill, Lester & (Barbara) Wesley of Center, AL and Loyd & (Joann) Wesley of Rincon, GA, three sisters, Thelma Haste and Betty Halbrook, both of Franklin, IN and Dora Hall of Greenwood, IN, ten grandchildren, Donna, Bobby, Krystal, Noah, Thomas, Phyllis Ann, Kim, Kevin, Keith and Krissy, fourteen great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and three step grandchildren. A special thanks to the staff at Somerset Nursing & Rehab and medical staff of Dr. Barry Dixon. She leaves a host of family and friends that will truly miss her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Wesley, whom she married on October 29, 1940 and who died on June 30, 1951, her parents, one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Wesley, who died in infancy, two brothers, Herman Wesley and Oscar Wesley and five sisters, Sylvia Hodge, Kathelene Shubert, Eveleyn Wesley, Ruth Florey and Gladys Wesley.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Richie Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
