Odra Wooton Moore

Odra Wooton Moore, 93, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013. She was born in Leslie County, Kentucky on September 27, 1920. She was the second child of Harrison and Emily Melton Wooton and is one of eleven siblings. She is survived by four of them, Eva, Earl, Nola and Shirley. She was preceded in death by the remaining six, Sterle, Ella, Bruce, Esther, James and Cephas. Her husband, Robert G. Moore, died on July 4, 2002. She is survived by three children, Robert F. & (Juanita) Moore, Teresa Ann & (Mike) Meece and Russ Lee & (Cindy) Moore. There are also six grandchildren and a lot of great-grandchildren. Odra was an adventurous woman and left her childhood home to seek employment in Louisville. She lived there during WWII and met her husband, who was from there, shortly after the war. She and Bob were married on October 5, 1946 and set about raising a family. Odra was proud of her working heritage and bookkeeping skills, which were used in Louisville as a comptometer operator. She was a kind and faithful wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by many. She was a homemaker, loved wind chimes and watching the birds. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Bullock officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 AM Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
