Doris Ann Shell Gill, having attained the age of 73, of Bronston, Kentucky, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
She was born in St. Albans, West Virginia on August 10, 1940, daughter of the late Lawrence Dallas and Annette Hess Shell. Doris was a member and Elder of Pisgah Presbyterian Church, the Material Girls Quilt Guild and Better Way Homemakers Club. A long-time genealogist, she was Registrar of the Somerset Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter and life member of Tiskelwah Chapter of Eastern Star. Other interests and talents included knitting, tatting, cross stitch, crewel embroidery and sewing.
She is survived by her husband, William E. "Bill" Gill of Bronston, one son, David Heath Gill & (Christine) of Brooklyn, NY, one daughter, Cynthia Jo Gill of Houston, TX, one brother, Dallas Lee Shell & (Beverley) of Nitro, WV and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM Friday, January 10, 2014 at Pisgah Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rusty Butler officiating.
Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 11 AM Friday at Pisgah Presbyterian Church.
Donations may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, God's Helping Hands or the Salvation Army.
