David Dale Irvine

David Dale Irvine, 65, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born in Bethelridge, Kentucky on November 15, 1948, son of the late Ruben and Elsie Higginbotham Irvine. He was a welder for Tecumseh and a farmer. He accepted Jesus as his personal Savior on January 7, 2014. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during Vietnam in B Company, 4th Battalion 47th infantry. He received a Purple Heart, a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Combat Infantryman's Badge and an Air Medal. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Baker Irvine, one son, David W. Irvine, one daughter, Jennifer & (Chris) Powell, all of Science Hill, two brothers, Dean & (Connie) Irvine of Bright, IN and Gary & (Eunice) Irvine of Science Hill, six sisters, Margaret & (Elza) Jasper of Science Hill, Meg & (Hank) Johnson of Lexington, KY, Ruby Joyce Taylor of Cincinnati, OH, Elsie & (Bill) Cooper of Vaught Ridge, KY, Glenda & (Hoy) Wilson of Science Hill and Vivian Kay & (Ralph) Loveless of Science Hill and one granddaughter, Katelyn Crabtree. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerome Irvine. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Joseph Allen and Bro. James Lowery officiating. Burial will be in Vaught Ridge Cemetery with military honors by the Kentucky National Guard. Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
