Minnie Mae Burdine Taylor, 87, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014. She was born in the Squib community on August 7, 1926, daughter of the late Oscar and Emma Barnes Burdine. She was a homemaker and a member of Chimney Rock Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Joe & (Melanie) Taylor of Somerset, two daughters, Leevonia Abbott and Penny & (Byron) Brown, both of Somerset, daughter-in-law, Valerie Taylor of Somerset, ten grandchildren, Brandy & (Troy) Carender of Jabez, April & (James) McKinney of Somerset, Joseph & (Sharon) Taylor of Somerset, Danica Taylor of Naples, FL, James & (Kristal) Taylor of Somerset, Eddie & (Missy) Taylor of Somerset, Travis & (Amanda) Taylor of Eubank, Misty & (David) Dick of Science Hill, Tabitha Taylor of Corbin and Hunter Brown of Somerset, seventeen great-grandchildren, BJ McKinney, Chasity McKinney, Autumn Thorne, Houston Hembree, Jasmine Peavey, Jaxson Peavey, Kirsten Bodie, Alyssa Bodie, Jadon Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Caleb Taylor, Blake Taylor, Otto Taylor, Hadessa Taylor, Amos Taylor, Stetson Taylor and Jada Carender. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Morton Taylor, whom she married on September 2, 1947 and who died on April 23, 2000, her parents, two sons, Eddie Taylor and Otto Taylor and a great-grandson, Jacob Taylor. A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Aaron Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Atkins Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
