Mildred Marie Vaught Blevins

Mildred Marie Vaught Blevins, 89, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center, Somerset, KY. Mildred was a resident of the Mt. Zion community for most of her life. She had been a resident of Somerset Nursing and Rehab Center for the past two years. Mildred was born on September 1, 1924, daughter of the late Ollie Richard Vaught and Emma Hall Vaught. She was also preceded in death by her step mother, Della Ruble Vaught. She was married to Jason L. Blevins on December 16, 1950, who died on May 13, 1989. She was also preceded in death by Carrol Tilley, father of her son, Eddie Tilley. She is survived by her three sons, Eddie Tilley of Science Hill, Wayne & (Norma) Blevins of Somerset and Gary & (Lafern) Blevins of Bethelridge, seven grandchildren, Angela & (Bill) O'Neal of Reading, OH, Tammy Tilley of North Port, FL, Carl Wesley of Loveland, OH, Matt & (Jessica) Blevins of Las Vegas, NV, Jonathan & (Rachel) Blevins of Bowling Green, KY, Rachel & (Jason) Cain of Science Hill and Josh Blevins of Bethelridge, nine great-grandchildren, Joey O'Neal, Jacob O'Neal, Tiffany & (Josh) Woodall, Lauren Wesley, Austin Wesley, Maddison Blevins, Molly Blevins, Hunter Cain and Tyler Cain, one sister, Geraldine Collins of Knoxville, TN and brother-in-law, Curtis Deford of Knoxville, TN. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends, who will mourn her passing. Mildred was preceded in death by her sisters, Stella Vaught, Myrtle Baugh, Viola Hines, Audra Girdler, Hazel Pitman, Delores Deford and Gladys Plowman and three brothers, Olive Vaught, Curtis Vaught and Donald Vaught. Mildred was saved at the age of 33 and was a devoted member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church, where she attended as long as her health permitted. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Mt. Zion Methodist Church with Bro. Troy Merrick officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8:30 PM Tuesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home and after 11 AM Wednesday at Mt. Zion Methodist Church. Donations may be made to the Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund. Pallbearers will be Carl Wesley, Bill O'Neal, Joey O'Neal, Jacob O'Neal, Matt Blevins, Jonathan Blevins, Josh Blevins and Jason Cain. Her great-grandchildren will be honorary pallbearers. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
