Russell "Rusty" Surface

Russell E. "Rusty" Surface, 58, of Franklin, IN, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014. He was born on July 19, 1955 in Franklin, IN., son of Russell A and Corene (Dewbrew) Surface. He retired from Amtrak after 30 years of service and was a 1973 Center Grove Graduate. He was an outdoors man at heart, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding ATV's and tinkering with cars. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Vicky L. (Hibbard) Surface; one daughter, Jessica Surface; one grandson, Justin; his parents, Russell A. & Corene (Dewbrew) Surface; two sisters, Cathy Loy and Tammy Surface; two nephews and two great nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM today, Friday, January 31, with visitation from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM prior to the service at G.H. Hermann in Indianapolis, IN. A Graveside service will be held for Mr. Russell "Rusty" Surface at 2 PM, Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Mize Cemetery in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. Burial will be in Mize Cemetery in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
