Larry Delano Adington, 65, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014.
He was born in Waynesburg, Kentucky on February 12, 1949, son of Velma Shelton Adington and the late Vernon Adington. He was vice president of sales for 36 years with D.C. Trimble Construction and a member of Double Springs Baptist Church. He was a member of Sievers Lodge #491, a KY Colonel, KY Admiral, Pulaski County Colonel, Pulaski County Count, a lifetime member of NRA and League of KY Sportsman, spent numerous years with Lake Cumberland Friends of NRA and was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation.
He is survived by his mother, Velma Adington of Waynesburg, KY, one brother, James & (Miriam) Adington of Stanford, KY, one sister, Judy & (Larry) Fields of Richmond, KY, four nieces, Darla Colegrove, Sharla Lake, Benita Land and Shannon Adington, one nephew, Joshua Adington, three great-nephews, Jared Colegrove, Alexander Lake and Isaac Land and one great-niece, Kaytlin Lake.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Friday, February 28, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Dunn officiating.
Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #18.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with a masonic service to be held at 7 PM.
The family requests donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42503.
