Lillie F. Simpson

Lillie F. Simpson, 77, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born in the Ruth community on March 18, 1937, daughter of the late Elmer E. and Amanda E. Brinson Cook. She was a homemaker and a member of Piney Grove #1 Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Judy & (Derrick) Whitaker of Science Hill, one brother, Elbert Cook of Illinois, two sisters, Ruth Colyer of Somerset and Wilma Phelps of the White Lily community, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest W. Simpson, her parents, one son, Rodger W. Simpson, one brother, Albert Cook and seven sisters, Berthie Daniels, Mildred Bray, Dorothy Davis, Verla Adams, Virginia Stogsdill, Zenia Cook and Fannie Snider. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Donald Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Simpson Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
