Duff Moore, 89, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at his residence.
He was born in Waynesburg, Kentucky on May 28, 1924, son of the late Boyd and Stella Potter Moore. He was a retired housing inspector for the Lincoln County PVA office. He also worked at Durham's Grocery for 18 years. He was a member of Olive Baptist Church. Duff was a World War II Army veteran and also served in the Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elsie Dowell Moore of Waynesburg, three sons, Kenneth & (Sharon) Waddell of Waynesburg, Leonard & (Mary) Moore of Canon City, CO and Rodney & (Linda) Moore of Elko, NV, one daughter, Judy & (Tony) Gray of Mayfield, KY, two brothers, John Moore and Rob Moore, both of Waynesburg, two sisters, Winnie Mullins of Charleston, SC and Peggy Wilson of Tipp City, OH, fifteen grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Duff S. Moore, seven brothers and one sister.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Bert Hall officiating.
Burial will be in Olive Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #18.
Visitation will be after 11 AM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
Donations may be made to Olive Baptist Church Building Fund.
