Clyde Acton

Clyde Acton, 93, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Friday, August 8, 2008 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born in Eubank, Kentucky on August 14, 1914, son of the late James William and Lucy Bloomer Acton. He was a lifelong farmer and the oldest member of Liberty Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was also the oldest member of Woodstock Masonic Lodge. He is survived by one son, Claude J. & (Janie) Acton of Somerset, two grandchildren, Staci & (Brian) Pfaadt of Louisville and Stephen & (Amy) Acton of Somerset and four great-grandsons, Brady, Brandon and Brett Pfaadt of Louisville and Mason Acton of Somerset. He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Mae Abbott Acton, who died on January 14, 2003, his parents, two sisters, Eva Acton and Elsie Brossart and three brothers, Marshall, Ivan and Wade Acton. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Bradley Goforth and Bro. Zandell Hasty officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund, Crab Orchard, KY or the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
