Kelson Salyers, 82, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born in Perry County, Kentucky on October 10, 1931, son of the late James B. and Martha Combs Salyers. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a retired electrician for Tecumseh Products.
He is survived by his wife, Zellene Gholson Salyers, whom he married on December 31, 1955, two sons, Mark & (Sheryl) Salyers of Macon, GA and Scott & (Stephanie) Salyers of Eubank, two sisters, Lorraine Laboe of Trenton, MI and Bertha Maggard of Eubank, one special granddaughter, Sophia Salyers of Eubank and one grandson, Trevor Howe of Pembroke, GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James B. and Martha Salyers, four sisters, Clara O'Neal, Sarah Combs, Lula Duggins and Georgia Hoover, three brothers, Eulyess Salyers, James B. Salyers Jr. and J.C. Salyers and one grandson, Troy Howe.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Jeremy Johnson officiating, Robert Lee Childers providing the Eulogy and special music provided by Brian Perkins and Mel Rhodus.
Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38.
Visitation will be from 6 PM to 8 PM Tuesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
