Jerry Dale Hibbard, 67, of Shopville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family at Rockcastle Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 7, 2014. He was born in Squib, Kentucky on November 8, 1946, son of the late Darl & Maranda Randolph Hibbard. He was a retired farmer and truck driver. He enjoyed dealing with livestock, and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church, and attended Line Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Brenda Gaye Burdine Hibbard, whom he married on August 28, 1967; a daughter, Sheila Kaye & (Frank) Smith; two sons, Timothy Dale & (Trisha) Hibbard, and Jimmy "Tyler" Hibbard; three grandchildren, Stephanie Danielle Smith, Cody Frank Smith, and Logan Aaron Hibbard; a brother, Bobby & (Pam) Hibbard; a sister, Shirley Ann Hibbard Mason; several nieces and nephews; his dog, Axel; and five special grandchildren, Chakita, Pepper, Maggie, Phil and Sweety. He was preceded in death by his parents, Darl & Maranda Randolph Hibbard; one brother, Doyle Dean Hibbard; two sisters-in-law, Arlene Cress Hibbard, and Clorene Allen Hibbard; a brother-in-law, Harold Mason; a special nephew, Jody Hibbard; and a special great-nephew, Jonathan Wayne Mason. A funeral service will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Bradley Goforth and Bro. Kevin Bullock officiating. Burial will be in Hibbard Cemetery in Rockcastle Co., Kentucky. Visitation for Mr. Jerry Dale Hibbard will be after 6 PM Monday, June 9, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Hibbard Cemetery Fund. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
