Norman Rutheford Sr., 82, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born in Keno, Kentucky on January 22, 1932, son of the late George M. and Winnie Nevels Rutheford. He was a retired farmer and factory worker. He was a member of Newell Church of God and a U.S. Army veteran, receiving a Purple Heart for service in the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Loetia Joyce Cromwell Rutheford, two sons, Norman Jr. & (Joey) Rutheford and Jeffrey & (Mercedes) Rutheford, all of Eubank, three grandchildren, Brandon Keith Rutheford, Jeffrey Dean Rutheford Jr. and Joseph Ryan Rutheford, two great-grandchildren, Jorden Scott Perkins and Joseph Blake Perkins, one brother, Donald Rutheford of Scottsville, KY and a host of other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandchildren, Jeremy Scott Rutheford and Jada Rose Rutheford Chumbley, four brothers, Ray, Johnnie, James and Cecil Rutheford and two sisters, Myrtle Moore and Mary Magdalene Young.
A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Gambrell and Bro. Richard West officiating.
Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
