Kenneth Eugene Huffman

Kenneth Eugene Huffman, 80, of Science Hill, Kentucky passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Jean Waddle Care Center. He was born in Monroe County, Ohio on August 19, 1933, son of the later Emmett and Doris Shafer Huffman. He worked for the US Post Office and retired from there in 1990. He formerly owned a heating and air conditioning business in Shelby, Ohio, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954, after graduating in 1951 from Johnsville High School in Ohio. He is survived by his wife Susan Hancock Huffman of Science Hill, KY; a son Loren & wife, Gulzat of Owasso, OK; step-daughters Jackie Laswell & husband Roy of Upper Sandusky, OH; and Kelly Nelsen & husband Wayne of Owensburg, IN; grandchildren Samantha, Ryan, and Shane Nelsen of Owensburg, IN; Esther Huffman of Owasso, OK; and Kristen Madden & husband Clinton of Louisville, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Denise, and a brother Clarence. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday June 25, 2014 at Lakeside Memorial Gardens with Bro. Troy Merrick officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens with military honors by American Legion Post #38. Visitation for Mr. Kenneth Eugene Huffman will be from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
