Daniel L. Palmer

Daniel L. Palmer, 72, a U.S. Navy veteran, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away at home in the loving care of his wife, Wanda, Saturday, July 19, 2014. He was born in Barbourville, Kentucky on December 11, 1942, son of the late Rex G. and Jennie Reed White Palmer Sr. He was a sales specialist at Lowe's of Somerset and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of Science Hill Church of the Nazarene and Sons of American Revolution. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Vaught Hurley-Palmer of Science Hill, two sons, David & (Lisa) Palmer and Dale & (Jerri) Palmer, both of Somerset, two stepsons, Greg & (Cindy) Hurley of Science Hill and Brandon Hurley of Lexington, KY, one brother, Rex G. Palmer of Morning View, KY, one sister, Sally A. Carrigan of Allenhurst, NJ, two grandsons, Aaron & (Katy) Palmer and Joshua Palmer and two great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Palmer and Nola Palmer. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Beech Grove Cemetery with Bro. Brian Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Beech Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
