Thomas J. Hargis, 75, of Eubank, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Bobtown, KY on October 9, 1938, son of the late Moses and Florida (Whitis) Hargis. He was a farmer. He is survived by one son, Tommy & (Gertie) Hargis of Eubank, three daughters, Kathe & (Paul) Godby and Karen & (Kerry) Bishop, both of Science Hill, Karrie & (Randy) Ridner of Eubank, a brother, Truman Hargis of Eubank, a sister, Justine Tackett of Eubank, eight grandchildren, David & (Cindy) Barron, Kim & (Michael) Wilson, T.R. Bishop, Ryan Hargis, Ashley Hargis, Tyler Ridner, Brandi Ridner and Caleb "Little Man" Ridner and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by; his parents, his wife, Mary Katherine (Smith) Hargis, whom he was united in marriage to on November 1, 1959 and was reunited in Heaven on Sept. 17, 2014, three brothers, Thurman Hargis, two infant brothers, who died in infancy, six sisters, Josephine Lee, Tressia Sims, Thelma Floyd, three infant sisters, who died in infancy. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, with Bro's. Tyler Ridner and Howard Godby officiating. Burial will be in Eden Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6pm Friday, Sept. 19, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Serving as Pallbearers will be, Randy Ridner, Paul Godby, Kerry Bishop, T.R. Bishop, Ryan Hargis and Tyler Ridner, an honorary Pallbearer, Caleb Ridner. The family request donations to be given to the Thomas J. Hargis Memorial Fund. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
