Douglas Padgett, 57, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 at his residence.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 23, 1957, son of the late Mary Evelyn Coffey Padgett and Alva Padgett Jr. He worked in environmental services at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and attended Cuba Community Church of God in Eubank, KY. He proudly served as a military policeman in the United States Army from 1975 to 1984. He was stationed in Egypt, Germany and Fort Campbell, KY with the 101st Airborne. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and was an avid UK basketball fan.
He is survived by one brother, Clyde & (Dawn) Jones of Largo, FL, five sisters Margaret & (Leland) Jordan of Newport News, VA, Linda & (Paul) Schiele of West Valley City, UT, Debi & (Lou) Barger of Eubank, Nora & (Troy) Roberts of Eubank and Jean & (Chris) Brower of New Paris, OH and fourteen nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Clayton Jones and one nephew, Kenneth Alva Warner.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Cuba Community Church of God with Bro. Troy Roberts, Bro. Letcher Napier and Bro. Aaron Hogue officiating.
Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home and after 10 AM Tuesday at Cuba Community Church of God.
Donations may be made to the Cuba Community Church of God Building Fund.
