Philip Andrew Phelps, 60, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on January 14, 1954, son of the late Obe and Celeste Rachael Vaught Phelps. He lived his early years on Clifty Creek in Science Hill, later moving to the Hogue community where he lived the remainder of his life. He loved to ride horses and hunt with his dogs. He enjoyed time with close friends and family. He was employed at Cumberland Wood and Chair and then returned to farming as his way of life.
He is survived by three daughters, Andrea Wilhelm of Russell Springs, KY Whitney and (Lee) Rose of Somerset and Courteney Phelps of Somerset, three sisters, Maryanne Ryan and Ruth Bryant, both of Science Hill and Mary Alice of Ft. Thomas, KY, one brother, Felix Joel of Monon, IN, six grandchildren, Jennifer and Jessica of Russell Springs, KY, Samuel, Elaina, Kinsley and Maddox of Somerset, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Maxine West and three brothers, Lewis Phelps, Obie Phelps and David Phelps.
A funeral service will be held at 5 PM Friday, November 21, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
Visitation will be after 3 PM Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Philip Andrew Phelps Memorial Fund, c/o Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
