Homer Lee Spears

Homer Lee Spears, 78, of Bethel Ridge Road in Bethel Ridge, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on January 31, 1930, son of the late Ira B. and Ora Ester Watson Spears. He was a farmer and attended Bethel Ridge United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Haste Spears of Bethel Ridge, two sons, Danny R. Spears and David L. Spears, both of Liberty, one daughter, Donna Sue Malone of Danville, seven step children, Bobby Ray Dick of Nancy, Jerry Wayne Dick of Argyle, Glenda Laboy of Mintonville, Linda Henderson of Nancy, Sally McCoy of Crab Orchard, Carolyn Hammond of Nicholasville and Becky Watson of Hustonville, five brothers, Dale Spears of Yosemite, Stanley Spears of North Vernon, IN, Lewis Spears and Tom Spears, both of Somerset and Willis Spears of North Vernon, IN, five sisters, Freida Wesley and Beulah Denham, both of Cincinnati, OH, Stella Walker of North Vernon, IN, Norma Jean Taylor of Somerset and Mary Lou Arnett of North Vernon, IN, five grandchildren, seventeen step grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Devonda Hodge Spears, one brother, Delbert Ray Spears, one step child, David Lee Dick and one grandchild, Brandon Spears. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, October 31, 2008 at Bethel Ridge United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Bethel Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
