Bro. Wendell Butte

Bro. Wendell Butte, 74, of Somerset, passed away Friday, November 28, 2014. He was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on October 26, 1940, son of the late Arnold M. and Mary Hines Butte. He was a minister and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was saved by grace on February 15, 1959. Shortly thereafter, he surrendered to the ministry and has proclaimed the gospel faithfully for the past 55 years. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Roberts Butte of Somerset, one son, Wendell Douglas Butte of Somerset, two daughters, Tresa & (Steven) Butte Lee of Lexington, KY and Melisa Butte of Somerset, one brother, Clifford Butte, one sister, Jeanetta King of Indiana, four grandchildren, Jacob McKnight, Courtney & (Zachary) Fowler, Matthew Lee and Makessa Lee. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Morse Eugene Butte, Bro. Arnold Butte Jr. and Gilbert Butte. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Monday, December 1, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Evans, Bro. Larry Butte and Bro. Daniel Harper. Burial will be in Bethlehem Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 PM to 9 PM Sunday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Cumberland Baptist Institute. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
