Irvin Lawrence Muse, 84, of Wildcat Drive in Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Monday, November 3, 2008 at his residence.
He was born in Delmer, Kentucky on November 10, 1923, son of the late Ira and Gladys Floyd Muse. He was an electrician and a member of I.B.E.W. for 60 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Somerset. He was a 1942 graduate of Nancy High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Tucker Muse, whom he married on May 1, 1946 in Russell Springs, KY, three children, Sandra & (Wendell) Denney of Somerset, Michael & (Jackie) Muse of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Becky & (Ernest) DeBord of Science Hill, four sisters, Norma Muse of Delmer, KY, Becky Langford of Bourbonnais, IL, Eltie Mary Tarter of Nancy and Christa Cheek of St. Petersburg, FL, one brother, Dwain Muse of Norwood, OH, six grandchildren, Kim Tingle of Pee Wee Valley, KY, Mark Muse of Louisville, KY, Jon Hardesty of Murfreesboro, TN, Chris Hardesty of Somerset, Matthew Hardwick of Science Hill and Allison Daughetee of Science Hill and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Tinsley, Amos and Gladstone Muse.
A funeral service will be held at 3 PM Thursday, November 6, 2008 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Dr. French Harmon officiating.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
