Glen E. Whitis

Glen E. Whitis, 67, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Monday, December 15, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Estesburg, Kentucky on January 19, 1947, son of the late Orville and Mildred Frances DeBord Whitis. He was a retired truck driver and drove for Bill Rodgers Inc. for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. He was a loving father, husband, and a member of Walnut Grove Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Eulia Whitis of Somerset; two brothers, Donald Whitis of Somerset and Jerry Whitis of Columbus, IN; four sisters, Bonnie Farris of Alabama, Linda & (Sherman) Martin of Florida, Vickie Bryant and Irene & (Ray) Pitney, both of Edinburg, IN, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Delores Ann Whitis, three brothers, Larry, Paul and Ronald Dean Whitis and one sister, Velma Lee Poynter. A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Marvin Cromer officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Willailla, KY. Visitation will be after 10 AM Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
