Janice James New

Ms. Janice James New, age 70, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014 suddenly and peacefully at her residence in Science Hill, Kentucky. She was born in the Mt. Zion Community of Pulaski County, Kentucky on Sunday, April 23, 1944, the daughter of Fred and Hazel Adams James. She was of the Methodist Faith and grew up attending the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and was a retired employee of Oakwood Intermediate Care Facility in Somerset, Kentucky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, John Perry and Lydia Crow James, and Millard and Grace Dick-Eastham Adams, her brothers, Charles Dee James, Lloyd Brent James, Rogene James, Narval Leo James, and her brother-in-law, Steve Cassada. She is survived by her three sons, Mark C. (and Robin) New of Burkesville, Kentucky, Edward Kent “Eddie” (and Sarah) James of Science Hill, Kentucky, David Scott (and Misty) New, also of Science Hill, Kentucky, her sisters, Helen Dean James of Somerset, Kentucky, Judy Lynn (and Ronnie) Vaught of Eubank, Kentucky, Lana Joyce Cassada of Somerset, Kentucky, a first cousin, whom she loved as a sister, Beverly Wade Randolph of Somerset, Kentucky, her sisters-in-law, Wilma James of Indianapolis, Indiana, Margaret James of Science Hill, Kentucky, her grandchildren, Austin M. (and Tiffany) New, Christopher D. New, Mitchell Scott New, Chelsea Renea New, Francis Grace James, Christopher Clay James, step-grandchildren, Gretchen Claunch, Cameron Claunch, Lakyn Collins and Brandon Collins, great-grandchildren, Alyssa Nicole New, Wyatt Keith New, Parker Eli New, nieces, Roberta Roberts, Rebecca Boles, Dana Hill, Hazel West, Christa Cassada and Minda Hudson, nephews, Robert James, Dwayne James, Alan James and Chris Cassada, first cousins, Raymond (and Barbara) James, Smythe (and Judy) James, Patsy Clements, Larry (and Bonnie) Wesley, Terry (and Suzanne) Wesley. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. E.S.T. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Science Hill, Kentucky. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Science Hill, Kentucky. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. E.S.T. on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill, Kentucky and at Mt.
