Bernard Williams, 77, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center.
He was born in Akron, Ohio on December 11, 1937, son of the late Bernard M. and Anna K. Reiner Williams. He retired in 1997 from Norfolk Southern Railroad in Bellevue, Ohio after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Grand Lodge of F & A.M Bellevue Chapter 273. He enjoyed camping, traveling, golf, country and bluegrass music, John Deere tractors, Dodge trucks, Pittsburgh Steelers and his dogs Goldie and Buster. He also enjoyed spending time at their extra property in Brodhead, KY and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Phyllis Marie Sees Williams, whom he married on September 30, 1972, two sons, Jeffrey Williams of Akron, OH and Scott DeLong of Bronston, two daughters, Michelle & (Scottie) Bullock of Mt. Vernon, KY and Barbara DeLong of Eubank, eight grandchildren, Ciara Johnston, Taylor Johnston, Brandon Bullock, Roman Back, Brandy DeLong, Christopher DeLong, Tara Williams and Tammy Powell, ten great-grandchildren, one brother, Tim & (Sylvia) Williams of Goosecreek, SC, three sisters, Shirley & (Kelly) Meadows of Wilmington, NC, Joyce & (Ron) Endres of Akron, OH and Debbie & (Don) Harpster of Indianapolis, IN, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Bernard Gerald Jr., two daughters, Leeann Williams and Jonita Williams, who died at birth and grandson, Bernard Gerald III.
A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Wednesday, January 7, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Clyde Miller officiating.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
