David Eugene Holder

David Eugene Holder, 62, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late Ernest Holder, Jr. and Shirley Fullen Holder. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He worked for Whittenburg Engineering, Ward Engineering and was a long shoreman for Merchant Marine. He is survived by three brothers, Charles Henry Holder, Chelsea Ray & (Clara) Holder and John Warren Holder, all of Somerset, a sister, Pamela Jane Holder of CA and nieces and nephews, Craig Holder, Christy Ann Holder Stringer, Debbie Penny and Lucas Penny. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Fullen Holder and a sister, Patricia Holder. He preceded his father, Ernest Holder, Jr. in death by one week. David donated his body for research to the University of Kentucky. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 PM Monday, January 12, 2015 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Hines officiating. Visitation will be after 10:30 AM Monday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.
