Sarah Ellen Ashley

Sarah Ellen Ashley, 89, of Polly Ann Ridge Road in Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at her residence. She was born in Mt. City, Tennessee on November 25, 1919, daughter of the late Fate and Ettie Phillippi Shelton. She was a homemaker and a member of Polly Ann Church of God. She is survived by six sons, James William Ashley of Pleasant Plain, OH, Robert Ashley of Eubank, Delmer Ashley of Cincinnati, OH, Glenn Ashley of Somerset, Leo Ashley of Eubank and Bobby Ashley of Eubank, three daughters, Brenda Caldwell of Eubank, Linda Padgett of Eubank and Patsy Dick of Kings Mt., two sisters, Velma Addington of Waynesburg and Beatrice Staton of Kings Mt., thirty grandchildren, forty four great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Ashley, who died on March 20, 1999, her parents, one brother, Eugene Shelton and four sisters, Ethel Howson, Ruby Higgins, Mary Caldwell and Bessie Brown. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Friday, December 5, 2008 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Donald Ashley officiating. Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
