Londis Elza Carlton

Londis Elza Carlton, 74, of Somerset, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born in Stab, Kentucky on February 18, 1941, son of the late Orville Lee Carlton and Evelyn Violet Mize Carlton Nicely. He was of the Church of God faith. He was a farmer, truck driver and logger. He loved spending time with family, watching UK basketball and Nascar racing. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Poynter Carlton, five sons, Jimmy & (Marsha) Carlton, David & (Teresa) Carlton, Steven Carlton, Kevin Carlton and Nathan & (Jessica) Carlton, all of Shopville, four daughters, Beverly & (Ritchie) Anderson of Science Hill, Judy & (Phillip) Vaughn, Paula & (George O'Dell) Gilliam, Leca & (C.J.) Napier, all of Shopville, seventeen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Dennis & (Norma) Carlton of Science Hill and two sisters, Wilda Sue & (Don) Anderson of Science Hill and Joyce & (Raymond) Poynter of Mt. Victory. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Short Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 AM Saturday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
