Nancy Ellen Flynn, 84, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Monday, April 27, 2015 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center.
She was born in Wayne County, Kentucky on June 30, 1930, daughter of the late George and Lura Troxtell Thompson. She retired from Palm Beach as a seamstress and was a member of Sloans Valley Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her girls, cooking for them, taking care of flowers, watching birds, talking to her friends and was an avid UK Wildcat fan.
She is survived by three daughters, June Estep of Burnside, Carolyn & (Larry) Marcum and Sheila Nicholas both of Somerset, six brothers, Arnold & (Shirley) Thompson and Gary Wayne & (Barbara) Thompson, both of Eubank, Ronnie Thompson, Roger & (Delana) Thompson and Mike & (Kim) Thompson, all of Ohio and Bob & (Jean) Thompson of Tennessee, four sisters, Lois & (Tommy) Blankenship of Somerset, Bertha Corder of Sloans Valley, Jean Bullock of Science Hill and Rita & (Benny) Hewitt of Somerset, five grandchildren, Roger Estep, Christy Estep, Bobby & (Joni) Marcum, Brandon & (Coralea) Marcum and Haley Godbey, six great-grandchildren, Jagger Keller, Emily Estep, Jacob Estep, Tyler Marcum, Kylee Marcum and Lyndsay Marcum and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Flynn, who died on February 23, 1997, her parents, brothers, Stanley Thompson and Donald Thompson, who both died in infancy, Robert Thompson and Joe Bill Thompson, son-in-law, Jack Estep, brothers-in-law, Lester Bullock and Bob Corder, sisters-in-law, Georgie Thompson and Nancy Thompson and one grandchild, Jordan Nicholas.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Weddle officiating.
Burial will be in Flynn Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
