Virldon "Cuz" Floyd, 80, of Old Highway 70 in Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Friday, January 2, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Eubank, Kentucky on December 19, 1928, son of the late Harvey Emory and Nettie Mercer Floyd. He was a farmer and a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of Polly Ann Baptist Church and attended Eubank Baptist Church. He was a member of the V.F.W. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Cross Floyd, two sons, Jeffrey & (Wendy) Floyd and Rodney & (Ann) Floyd, all of Eubank, six grandchildren, Jon Floyd, Jamie Floyd, Jody Floyd, Josh & (Alecia) Floyd, Brandon Floyd and Jordan Miller, one great-grandchild, Whitney Floyd, several nieces and nephews, Annett Todd, Bruce Floyd, Sherry Haste, Jean Wright, Jane Denmyer, David Floyd and Linda Walters, special friends, Leland Ruckle and Lester Walker Jr. and sisters-in-law, Alice Floyd of Eubank and Pauline Floyd of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Vinson, Vinard and Villard Floyd. A funeral service will be held at 3 PM Monday, January 5, 2009 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Shelby Reynolds and Bro. Sammie Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38. Visitation will be after 6 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
