Charles C. Minton, 79, of Seminole, Florida, formerly of Faubush, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009.
He was born in Faubush, Kentucky on November 7, 1929, son of the late Charles Sherman and Una Myrtle Luttrell Minton. Charlie was a farmer, retired from multiple businesses as owner and a former Navy third class petty officer. He was a free and accepted Mason for over 50 years at the Evronston Eversal Lodge. He was also a member of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine in Oleika Temple of Lexington, KY.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lorane (Vodde) Minton of St. Petersburg, FL, one daughter, Charlene Miller of Cape Gerardo, MO, three sons, Dave Minton of Valley View, TX and Dean Minton and Greg Minton, both of Clearwater, FL, two sisters, Ellen Meece of Cincinnati, OH and Faye Meece of Somerset, KY, one brother, Wendell Minton of Somerset, KY, nine grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Kay Bingham, one brother, Ray Minton and one sister, Ruth Blanton.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, January 16, 2009 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill, KY.
Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
