Harris Smith Jenkins

Harris Smith Jenkins, 75, of Arlen Drive in Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Britthaven Nursing Home. He was born in Union County, Kentucky on March 2, 1933, son of the late Lee and Hepsie Jenkins. He was retired from the Department of Agriculture and of the Church of Christ faith. He is survived by his wife, Mathel Gaddis Jenkins of Somerset, five sons, Roger Jenkins of Marion, KY, Iloff Jenkins of Tennessee, Robbie Godbey of Goldsboro, NC, Michael Godbey of Science Hill and Nickey Godbey of Atlanta, GA, three daughters, Roseanna Denton of Mt. Zion, Sheila Jenkins of Marion, KY and Teresa Jenkins of Dixon, KY, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Phillip and Danny Godbey, two grandchildren, his brothers and sisters. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Friday, January 16, 2009 at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Bro. Mike Strehl officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
