R. B. Walden

R. B. Walden, 87, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center. He was born in Bronston, Kentucky on April 2, 1928, son of the late Henry Marshall and Mary Angeline Brown Walden. He was a farmer and a member of McKinney Baptist Church, where he served as a church and cemetery trustee for many years. He married Pauline Lockard Walden on September 5, 1946 and they would have celebrated 69 years together this 5th day of September. They were blessed with two sons, Paul Walden and Richard Walden. He is survived by his wife, Pauline, two sons, Bro. Paul & (Judy) Walden of Muncie, IN and Bro. Richard Walden and his wife, Janie, who was his loving care giver for the past several years. He loved her dearly. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Rick Walden, Kelly Joe Walden, Leisa Ross, Tracy Pruitt and Paul David Walden, eight great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jared and Shawna Walden, Skyler and Ethan Ross, Jerrica Mullins, Dakota Pruitt and Naveah Walden, one sister, Ella Wallen of Somerset, two special nieces, Kim Walden and Melisa Walden Meece, a special nephew, Kenny Walden and a special friend, who has been like a son, Tim Rice. Many nieces, nephews, church family and special neighbors, Tim and Mildred Poynter, also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, F.M. "Jake" Walden, Elmer "Shorty" Walden, Albert "Elleck" Walden and Arvis Walden and three sisters, Dora Branscum, Lythia Martin and Dean Gibson, three half-brothers, Wesley Walden, Evan Walden and Riley Walden and one half sister, Betty Burdette. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in New Bronston Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
