Sheila Ann Shepherd, 45, of Greenleaf Drive in Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life to go to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born in Somerset, Kentucky on October 10, 1963, daughter of Harold and Mathel Godbey Acey. She was an administrative assistant at the Bethany House and of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband, Richard Shepherd, whom she married on July 24, 1993, one son, Ricky Shepherd, both of Somerset, her parents, Harold and Mathel Acey of Science Hill, one brother, Gerald Acey of Science Hill, one step daughter, Brittany Shepherd of Tucson, AZ, her mother-in-law, Betty Shepherd of St. Augustine, FL, one sister-in-law, LaDonna Talbott of St. Augustine, FL, one nephew, Scott & (Candace) Nall of Indianapolis, IN, two uncles, Earl & (Judy) Acey of Science Hill and Marvin & (Susan) Godbey of Bethel Ridge, KY, one aunt, Mavis & (Franz) Burton of Edinburg, IN, fourteen cousins and a host of very dear friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Elmer and Edna Acey, her maternal grandparents, Oral and Edna Godbey and her father-in-law, Dorman Shepherd. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Gilbert Robinson and Bro. Lester Randolph officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 PM Monday at the funeral home. The family requests that donations go to the Ricky Shepherd College Fund. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
