William M. Moore

William M. Moore, 74, of Nelson Valley Road in Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 9, 2009 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born in Ansel, Kentucky on February 12, 1934, son of the late Edgar D. and Opal Oveline Campbell Moore. He was a truck driver for McLean Trucking Company, a member of Teamster Union Local #100 and retired from U.S. Mail long distance hauling. He was saved in 1972 and was a member of Socialville Baptist Church in Mason, Ohio for 21 years. He was a trustee, usher, sang in the church choir and a member of the men's prayer group. After moving to Kentucky, he became a member of Nelson Valley Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Reca M. Vaught Moore, whom he married on July 21, 1955, one son, Rocky Allen & (Alyson) Moore of Draousburg, PA, one daughter, Sandra Gale & (Glenn) Austing of West Chester, OH, two brothers, Eugene & (Lil) Moore of Winchester, OH and Douglas Moore of Cincinnati, OH, three sisters, Agnes & (Charles) Hendricks of Hogue, KY, Wilma & (Jack) Howerton of Shady Grove, KY and Carolyn Mofield of Science Hill, two grandchildren, Joshua Allen Moore of Memphis, TN and Gina Marie & (Jeff) Childers of West Chester, OH and a special aunt, Edith Campbell. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, who died in infancy, Amanda Lynn Moore, one brother, David Moore and one sister, who died in infancy, Jeanette Moore. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Grant Hardwick officiating. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
