David Johnson, 71, of Proctor Street in Danville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 4, 1938, son of the late Wilbur and Doris Rockwood Johnson. He taught school in the Lincoln County school system and pastored churches in Lincoln County and Pulaski County. He attained a degree from Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and a master's degree in Theology. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Waynesburg.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Bandy Johnson of Danville, two sons, Michael Johnson of Danville and Charles & (Sherry) Johnson of Spokane WA, two brothers, Wilbur & (Marcella) Johnson Jr. of Louisville and Daniel & (Lynda) Johnson of Nicholasville, KY and one sister, Gertrude & (Jan) McAninch of Waynesburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Paul Johnson.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Bro. Chris Johnson and Bro. Vola Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Olive Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 9:30 AM Saturday at the church.
Donations may be made to the benevolence fund at Pleasant View Baptist Church.
