Austin Campbell

Austin Campbell, 74, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center. He was born in Hazard, Kentucky on May 8, 1941, son of the late Wayne and Pearolee Combs Campbell. He was a minister and a member of Floyd Switch Baptist Church. He retired from Clear Creek Baptist College in 2004 and was a beloved pastor for 40 years of seven Baptist churches in Bell County, Pulaski County, Lincoln County and Perry County. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Wilson Campbell of Science Hill, two sons, David & (Sherry) Campbell of LaFollette, TN and Kevin & (Casi) Campbell of Eubank, four brothers, Ova & (Geneva "Jeannie") Campbell of Beavercreek, OH, Ernest & (Kathy) Campbell of Hazard, KY, J.D. & (Linda) Campbell of Richmond, KY and Curtis & (Marie) Campbell of Hazard, three sisters, Doris & (Paul) Wagner of Hazard, Wanda & (Richard) Stanton of Florida and Josephine & (Don) Kemper of Flat Woods, KY, seven grandchildren, Josh & (Michelle) Campbell, Danielle & (Bryan) Spears, Julia McNew, Rheagan Catron, Sierra Campbell, Rami Todd and Sabrina Hurley, two great-grandchildren, Mason Spears and Micah Spears, several special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gabe Campbell and Wayne Campbell, Jr. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Friday, August 28, 2015 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Gambrel and Bro. Paul Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
