Josephine May Thompson Johnson, daughter of the late Alonza and Elsie Kessee Thompson, was born in Eubank, Kentucky on December 30, 1923 and departed this life on January 10, 2006 at the age of 82 years.
She was a homemaker, attended the Church of God of Prophecy and loved quilting.
She is survived by six sons, Lewis & (Shirley) Johnson of Eubank, Charles & (Mae) Johnson of Waynesburg, Ray & (Wanda) Johnson of Science Hill, Garry & (Chris) Johnson of Eubank, Robert & (Tammy) Johnson of Nancy and Larry Johnson of Somerset, four daughters, Jean & (Lynndel) Black and Genevieve & (Victor) Howson both of Eubank, Oneida & (Tim) Bell of Somerset and Darlene & (Alton) Fulcher, Jr. of Eubank, a brother, Darrell Thompson, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John Henry Johnson, whom she married on July 2, 1941 and who died on January 14, 2005, her parents, a brother, Harold Thompson, five sisters, Gladys Seufert, Ethel Lynch, Edna Singer, Madeline Whitney and Hazel Conley and a grandchild, Darren Black.
A funeral service will be at 11 AM Saturday, January 14, 2006 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Arnold Harper officiating.
Burial in Pilot Cemetery.
Visitation after 6 PM Friday.
